Sisyphus got nothin’ on me

I’m reworking my personal site, yet again, to use css the way I know that it’s meant to be used. Unfortunately I’m also running headlong into the usual problems:

1) CSS positioning stinks
2) CSS positioning stinks differently in every damned browser made
3) CSS positioning isn’t a whole lot of fun compared to, say, design
4) CSS positioning makes for sites that look like every other site that uses CSS positioning
5) CSS positioning almost guarantees the overuse of rules, mostly because we were so rule starved with html
6) CSS positioning becomes an excuse for lack of content

Bear with me

Oh, man do I know what you mean. I'm more of a wannabe geek than a real one (I'm a writer), and my site's css gave me a huge pain in the ass. My prayers are with you.
