Color Theory 101
“If this layout lacks contrast, set your monitor to the sRGB standard.”
I’m a little surprised to see Zeldman adise people that they should change their monitor color workspace because his site colors lack contrast.
Unfortunately, his advice will wreak havoc if you use your computer to do, say, print design. I’ve carefully calibrated my monitor to match output from 4-color process printing (and my Epson 1200 printer) and I’m not going to change it because a web designer (even one that I appreciate as much as Zeldman) makes bad design decisions. I mean, c’mon, white type knocking out of blue-green?
